Also we added some veggie inspired brunch items on Sunday:

- Vegan Scramble(tofu, spinach mushrooms and green onions with tortillas and de arbol)
- What Came First aka the Hangover Sammie!? ( fried egg, cheese, fried chicken breast, bacon smothered in our hop sausage gravy on a Sadie Rose focacia)
DRINKS:
A few new drinks I should mention rolling out today:
Barrel aged Manhattan!
This is the first offering from my barrel age series J What the hell does that mean? I took a safe road and made a small batch of manhattans and aged this into a virgin medium char?d American oak barrel for 3 months. The result is a softer, lightly smokey manhattan. This is a very limited item and Im working on my second cocktail for the fall now.
Surly Temple!
A bubbly berry lemonade type drink with Sloe-gin, Lemon, soda water.
The Fresher Martini!
Hendricks martini with basil and cucumber, a bit of lilet and a pinch of salt. Fabulous!
Vaporetto!
From Venice with love! Campari, splash of OJ, a bit of champagne absolutely refreshing!
The Bartender?s Lunch!
We use Karlsons Gold, a taste of mezcal, a dash of Peychauds bitter, a little worsteshire for good measure and garnished with a Bacon, Onion and Olive. Yeah, Im sure you don?t wanna try it! (before 2pm it?s the bartenders breakfast after 9pm it?s the bartender dinner)
Basil Lemonada!
The name should say it all! This is a vodks basil spritzy lemonade!
MARK YOUR CALENDARS:
Friday, September 3rd: An Evening with Brasserie Chouffe!
What initially started as a hobby in the ?70s, two brother-in-laws, Pierre Gobron & Christian Bauweraerts, found themselves with a winning brassin (brewing mix) debuting LA CHOUFFE to the world on August 27th, 1982.
The elves of Achouffe were impatient to discover new countries, and their Dutch cousins were the first to give them a warm welcome. Even today, the Netherlands is the major destination of Achouffe Beers outside Belgium. Nowadays, more than 20 countries worldwide are supplied with our ?nectar? from the Ardennes forests. Coveted international awards have also been received year after year to reward their unique taste.
We are very excited to welcome founder, Christian Bauweraerts, to Small Bar on Friday, 9/3, for a special night of flights & food pairings featuring La Chouffe, McChouffe, & Houblon Chouffe and did we tell you there are THREE different ways to enjoy these THREE brilliant Belgian ales?
ONE: $7 Keep-the-Glass + $6 Refills
TWO: The Flight ? A 4oz pour of all three ales for only $7.75!
THREE: The Pairings ? Either $10 each or Enjoy the entire flight for only $25!
- A six ounce pour of McChouffe with Idiazabal cheese plated with fresh fruit, artisan meat & crostinis!
- A six ounce pour of Houblon Chouffe with spicy mussels, shrimp, corn, potatoes, & hop sausage in a Houblon Chouffe/garlic/shallots bath & crusty baguette for dipping!
- A six ounce pour of La Chouffe paired with warm toffee apple crisp a la mode (if you please)!
Please join us for this rare event!
MONTHLY DRINKABOUT Wednesday September 15th, October 20th, November 17th!
Drink?a?bout [ drink-uh-bout ] -noun 1. an informal bus ride taken by members of the communities of Normal Heights, North Park, South Park and beyond, for the purpose of drinking without driving, sampling the wares at multiple local establishments, and being seen by the public.
So here is how it will go down. Each month, 2 lovely buses (Brewery Tours of San Diego) will cruise a loop, stopping repeatedly at EIGHT craft-beer bars and restaurants. You are free to hop on and hop off wherever and whenever you desire starting at about 7pm, at NO COST TO YOU! The wonderful beer establishments included in this junket? Blind Lady Alehouse, Small Bar, Livewire, Toronado, Sea Rocket, The Station, Hamilton's, & Ritual Tavern. So if you live in Normal Heights you may want to start at Blind Lady, and then hop on and cruise to another part of town to drink, hopping back when you're done and avoiding driving altogether. And likewise, if you live in South Park, check out other parts of town without pesky parking. It's also a great time to check out any places you haven't tried yet, but have been meaning to. All in all, a fun time and the rides are free! The NEXT one is WEDNESDAY, Feb 17th. Check out Drinkabout on facebook for details and bus schedules!
